News for Seniors

Statistics analyzed
Statistics analyzed by the American Medical Association conclude that men over 65 just diagnosed with prostate cancer need not be subject to surgery because the slow progress of the illness most likely will result in the person dying of other causes such as stroke or heart attack  before dying of prostate cancer.
Managing Wellness for seniors PDF Print E-mail
Not long ago, we considered Seniors to be people over 60. Today, with advances in medicine, awareness of health risk in smoking and excessive alcohol consumption as well as promoting moderate eating habits, men and women are living longer and generally in good health and with minimal mental deterioration. So the term Seniors, indicating retirement, should be applied to people over 65 qualified for Medicare. It is at this age when problems in the urinary system, colon, pulmonary deficiency, heart malfunction, blocked arteries, anxiety, bone fractures, and others begin to appear forcing a more sedentary lifestyle which in turn may increase depression, insomnia and greater anxiety. Luckily for them, Medicare provides funds for the majority of all the above conditions which are extended with supplement insurance at reasonable costs. Thus, Seniors should not be shy in asking for help when they feel it is needed. Sometimes it maybe more comfortable (no trips to doctor office or time in waiting rooms) to cure some of these problems at home with over the counter remedies or supplements.
