Managing Wellness for men |

Perhaps because of ancestry, men seem more immune to sickness or disease than women but are prone to greater damage at the work place either by accidents or unhealthy environment. Assuming they do not smoke or use drugs, men are not expected to suffer major illness during their first forty years of life. Afterwards heart problems, diabetes, prostate enlargement, gall stones and other malfunctions begin to appear. Some, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and urinary dysfunctions can be kept at bay with exercise, supplements and minor medication. Others such as prostate enlargement must be monitored until their seventies looking for cancer development. Strokes are common because of work stress, poor eating habits, overweight, not enough exercise, and others that need to be monitored by a cardiologist on a regular basis.
For purposes of this web site Men are considered male individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 when they are classified as Seniors and qualified for Medicare, the federal funded health insurance program.
