From newborn to about three years old children must be cared for with regular checkups with the family pediatrician. He understands their giggling, crying and other manifestation as possible signs of discomfort or distress. After the age of three, children can express verbally what they feel wrong in their body which makes their treatment easier and more accurate. From seven up to the teen years, a new body begins to emerge through puberty which will require additional attention by a pediatrician, sometimes a psychologist. Additionally, more and more attention by the parents will be needed, hopefully developing a close and understanding relationship with their children who are becoming young adults. Parents should share and participate in the hobbies or sports that youngster enjoy most, even if it is just being present at their Little League or soccer games.
Parents should advise their children on the perils of sex activity which, if unchecked, results in unwanted pregnancies, babies that do not receive proper attentions and become drag in a young woman’s life. Good parents give advice to their children on the need to keep away from serious relationship and sexual activity until they are capable of being in their own and earn enough money to support a wife and child while pursing a career or trade that will give them a comfortable living. They should not plan on the support that their wives could provide unless they decide not to have children.
It is very important to monitor and promote healthy eating habits. Try to reduce their fat intake, promote consumption of milk and vegetables, and keep them away from excessive TV or Twitter. If you don’t, your children might grow up to be overweight and even obese causing serious illnesses when they grow up. Children who are obese at puberty most likely will be obese the rest of their lives.
